This Enduro race combines an adventure in Madeira with the best of mountain biking!!

In the “Bike Camp Experience,” athletes camp in a different location every day, in places of spectacular beauty.

In TransMadeira, the goal is to cover approximately 200 km of trails, with various types of terrain, in the shortest time possible.

It takes place from May 18th to 23rd and from September 28th to October 3rd, in two unprecedented editions, and covers the island from Machico (east) to Calheta (west).

The Madeira Wine Festival is one of the island´s main tourist attractions that pays tribute to this precious nectar and its undeniable socioeconomic significance, event held between August 25th to September 8th.
Taking place during the grape harvest in late August, early September, this event aims to recreate the old traditions of Madeira, which were developed over centuries of labour in viticulture.
This event has been commemorated since the late seventies of the last century. It begins in Funchal and includes European Folklore Week, ornamentations, exhibitions and live portraits depicting wine and its crafts and light and traditional music performances.

The Wine Lounge aims to introduce tourists and locals to the Madeira Wine Region, allowing them to deepen their knowledge of Madeira Wine and wines with the Protected Designation of Origin "Madeirense" and Protected Geographical Indication "Terras Madeirenses" (white, red, sparkling and rosé wines from Madeira), from cultivation to bottling.

The Harvest Festival brings together thousands of visitors every year in the first half of September in the village of Estreito.
On the morning of Saturday, September 5th, attention turns to Estreito de Câmara de Lobos, where the Harvest Festival takes place.
There, on a Madeiran farm, the grape harvest takes place, followed by an ethnographic procession that includes the participation of a large number of folklore and ethnography groups.
After the procession, the grape treading is recreated, with free participation, in a traditional wine press, all surrounded by a festive atmosphere where there is no shortage of musical entertainment and regional gastronomy.

Living up to its nickname as the "land of wine" in Madeira, the Casa do Povo do Porto da Cruz organizes the annual Grape and Farmer's Festival.

This dynamic event aims to value farmers, seeking to promote new forms of marketing and production of grapes, as well as sharing knowledge about wine production in general.

Between September 5th and 6th, at the height of the grape harvest, this parish with a strong wine tradition invites everyone to participate in the festivities, which include, among many others, an ethnographic procession alluding to the customs of Porto da Cruz.

The festival takes place during the month of September, between the 21th and the 24th, in the city of Vila Baleira, and features a set of activities that seek to recall the epic Portuguese Discoveries.
The event includes the disembarking of Columbus, a sixteenth-century market with food, crafts, street performances, circus arts, theatrical representations and staging of peace and war ordeals common at the time, games of skill, weapons training, acrobatics and juggling, lots of music and exotic dances, ensuring permanent entertainment and a constant uproar among the various typical characters of this period .

From September 19th to 20th, the Pear Festival takes place. This annual rural event, organized by the Casa do Povo of Ponta do Pargo, brings together many farmers from various neighboring localities.

The farmers gather in the parish of Ponta do Pargo and transform the production and harvesting of pears into a lively and high-profile celebration.

This important commemoration also features a large and eye-catching musical program, which includes folk groups, regional bands, and even established national artists.

In commemoration of this important occasion, a few social and cultural activities and animation initiatives have been planned in the city centre of Funchal, such as free admission into some museums and gardens.
On the other hand, tourists will be greeted with flowers and gifts upon their arrival at Madeira’s International Airport, at the International Maritime Passanger terminal of the Port of Funchal and also in some official tourist offices.

With the aim of promoting the secular tradition that is behind the manufacture of cider, the village of Santo da Serra promotes between September, 28th and 29th a popular festivity as a tribute to the cider, a local popular beverage, in a festivity which guarantees lots of entertainment.
This event includes several cultural activities such as a small parade, the pressing of the apples, the cider making, musical performances and exhibitions related to this product.

This popular event aims to promote apples and their derivatives. The program includes entertainment, cuisine, folklore, tastings, and workshops.
